July Team News: Summer is here, finally!
Summer time is most certainly here with some great weather in July! The Vizion Wealth team have been enjoying the summer months with lots of fun activities (and working / studying hard of course!)
Geraint has passed his first exam, R01 – Financial Regulation and Ethics, which starts him on his journey to achieving the Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning. We are so pleased for him and look forward to sharing his progress in the upcoming months.
Our Investment Analyst, Sam, finally got to marry his partner (now wife!), Rachel, and they had their dream wedding at their local church in Caversham. They had a long and well-deserved break in the Lake District where they could enjoy some quality time together. Since returning to work, Sam has been working hard completing research and preparing materials for the Investment Committee.
Our newest member of staff, Joe, spent 3 weeks province-hopping in Canada during May. His first stop was Calgary, where he went to visit the Rockies (in particular Lake Louise & Emerald Lake), Calgary Zoo and the Heritage Park Historical Village. His next destination was Toronto where he visited many places of interest, such as the CN Tower, Niagara Falls and the Toronto Islands. Finally, Joe’s last stop was in Newfoundland, where he has family settled there. Joe made the most of the surroundings Newfoundland has to offer by going on numerous hikes, whale watching and exploring downtown St Johns; where I’ve heard many Irish pubs were visited…
I went on a family trip to Athens, where we visited the birth-site of democracy – the Acropolis. My father being an avid reader of history and well versed in Greek mythology, particularly enjoyed The Parthenon Temple which is dedicated to goddess Athena. We definitely had our fill of Moussaka, Koulouri and Gyros!
James and Georgie were lucky enough to go to the one and only Glastonbury Festival after a few years of waiting! They had the best time seeing artists such as Little Simz, Paul McCartney and the legendary Diana Ross. Now the countdown is on for their wedding!
Andrew successfully completed his 500 miles in 5 days Ring of Fire cycling fundraiser in the Bordeaux region in sweltering heat, but the effort was all worth it with the group raising over £100,000 for Milton Keynes Rugby Club and Willen Hospice.
Lastly, we would like to congratulate one of our paraplanners, Terry, who has recently got engaged to his partner, Ru. We wish them all the happiness in the world and look forward to sharing pictures of their wedding in Chiang Rai, Thailand!
