May Team News: Spring in full swing

With Spring in full swing, we want to wish you all a happy new tax year! The team at Vizion have been very busy over the last few months and we are excited to share our staff news with you.

Firstly, we want to introduce our new Wealth Management Executive, Joe Harris. Joe is an Economics graduate from Lancaster University and has a strong interest in all things finance. In his spare time, Joe is a keen drummer and lover of rock music, as well as an avid follower of Watford FC. We are really pleased to have Joe on board and look forward to sharing his development in the coming years.

As part of the lead up to his Wedding celebrations, James enjoyed his stag do in Wales, which was organised by his lovely brother, Will. James and his friends went on some countryside walks and ate well at the local pubs (and I’m sure they enjoyed a few drinks too!)

We are really proud of both Geraint and Navleen, who were finally able to attend their graduation ceremonies recently. Geraint celebrated in style with his friends from the Northampton University Rugby team and Navleen took a trip to Paris with her best friend.

As well as graduating, Navleen also passed her R02 Investment Principles and Risk exam! This brings her another step closer to achieving the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. While we are on the topic of exam success, one of our advisers, Rob, passed his J10 Discretionary Investment Management exam and I also passed my AF1 Personal Tax & Trust Planning exam, as well as my second coursework assignment for AF6 Senior Management & Supervision – onwards and upwards to Chartered!

Andrew has just completed his first of two long distance charity bike rides during the months of April & May with a view to raising over £3,000 in total. Andrew, along with the Stony MAMILs cycling club cycled for 3 days across the north of the country on the road version of Wainwrights Coast to Coast route, covering 175 miles of hilly terrain through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors including the notorious Hardknott Pass, one of the steepest roads in England. The team managed to raise over £2,000 for Willen Hospice and Harry Rainbow. In mid-May, he is braving his fourth MKRUFC Ring of Fire cycling challenge which involves cycling 500 miles starting from Bordeaux in France in 5 days. All funds raised during Ring of Fire challenge will be donated to the local Willen Hospice and Milton Keynes Rugby Club charities. If you feel this is a worthwhile cause (and of course a noteworthy challenge), please see below the link to donate. Andrew would be extremely grateful for any donations received.

For our end of tax year social, the Vizion Wealth partners kindly took the team out for an afternoon of Quad Biking, followed by a tasty dinner and awards ceremony in a local restaurant. It is safe to say, we all survived the quad biking experience, although our competitive sides definitely came out during the races! In Jade’s words, ‘it’s all or nothing!’

Lastly, our Investment Analyst and Paraplanner, Sam, is finally getting married (after 2 years of postponement) and going on his honeymoon to the Lake District. We are so happy for Sam and Rachel and look forward to sharing some pictures with you all in the next blog.
