May Team News: The Nation Opens Up
With the success of the vaccination programme, shops and restaurants have begun to re-open and outdoor activities are in full swing; life is looking a little brighter. Over the last couple of months, the team has celebrated a big birthday, a new member of staff and the end of the 2020/21 tax year! It has been nice making a slow return to the office with a Covid-friendly staff rota, and regular lateral-flow testing.
With our growing team, we are thrilled to have a new paraplanner on board – introducing Geraint Morris. Geraint is a final year student on a BSc Banking and Financial Planning degree at the University of Northampton and is originally from Newport, South Wales. Geraint is a member of the university rugby league team and lives with his girlfriend Hailey in Milton Keynes.
After working from home for a long period of time, the Vizion Wealth partners decided it was time for the team to enjoy a day out, and they kindly took the staff Clay Pigeon Shooting for the day. We were oh so lucky with the weather, and managed to get some decent shots in. It was a miracle everybody (me) actually hit something! Considering all the complexities involved in the sport, Andrew was a pro with his technique and Geraint was a natural.
Andrew celebrated his 50th birthday last week and was treated to an array of home baked goods from Sue and Sophie, and he also got together in the local beer garden with his friends in a Covid safe environment. The chocolate cake was a firm favourite in the office, with the peanut butter cake a close second.
Faith and I also recently celebrated our birthdays. Faith was inundated with flowers, balloons and cards and I spent the weekend munching on my chai sponge, cinnamon and cardamon buttercream cake topped with pistachios.
There has been some wonderful news for James’s family, as his sister, Anna and her husband Nick have just welcomed their first child (and grandchild!) into the family. Congratulations to the Blackham family, and welcome to the world Rosie!
Our lovely Sam and his fiancé Rachel finally exchanged on their new home, after a long and gruelling process. Buying and selling during a pandemic has not been easy, and after living out of cardboard boxes for the last month or so, the end is nigh!
Enjoy the last days of Spring everyone.
Love Jess x
